Let’s go!” It’s the universal rallying cry for Triathletes everywhere.

You’ve probably heard it a hundred times at the start of a race, during a long training session, or as you’re desperately hoping to get to the aid station before they run out of flat coke!

But have you ever stopped to think about what it really means? “Let’s go” is a contraction of the words “Let. Us. Go.,” and with that little "us", we’re subtly reminding each other that we are All in this together. You, your teammates, your competitors, your support crew and even the casual locals who came out to see the Triathaleets" swim, bike and run around their town.

Sure, we may be competing individually, but we’re never really alone. Endurance athletes are part of a unique community bound together by a shared love for challenges, sore muscles, and the strange satisfaction of walking sideways downstairs the day after a race.

In the world of triathlon, there’s a camaraderie that binds us. Let’s face it after months of getting up at 5 a.m. to jump into cold water or weekend after weekend of putting your shorts on (hopefully they are from us here at Coeur) and heading out for a little three-hour ride, bonds are going to form between everyone involved.

When we say, “Let’s Go,” it’s like an unspoken nod to the people next to you, the people that supported you along the way, and the folks on the other side of the transition area fencing, that is saying “Yep, we’ve all been through a lot together.”

 The Power of “Us”

So, let's all remember that the phrase “let’s go” isn’t just motivational—it’s a reminder that no matter how much that last hill makes you want to throw your bike into a lake, you’re not alone.

And speaking of togetherness, you’d be surprised at the bonds that can form over shared snack breaks and emergency restroom situations on the trail. True story folks but we promise not to disclose the name of the Coeur Pro involved in that one.  Let's just call her..."Mrs. One Sock"!

Ultimately, it comes down to the fact that with endurance sports, there's a respect for all the journeys. The random athlete on the treadmill next to you may be three miles ahead, but you’re both committed to the same grind. The husband or wife who watched the kids or pets on the weekend so you could ride, is just as much a part of the community as the athlete.

Whether you’re one of our amazing First Timers tackling your first sprint triathlon, a veteran with more race medals than you can carry, or part of the support team walking around with the t-shirt that says "Team Jenna" or "Alica" or whatever the name is of the athlete they are supporting, you are All part of a family that "gets it".

So, Let Us keep moving forward, and let’s keep laughing along the way. Because when we say, “let’s go,” we’re not just talking to ourselves. We’re speaking to everyone around us, saying, Thank You.

Let Us Go! The hay is in the barn and it's time to Play!
